This area of Roatan has the largest selection of restaurants in the island. This is part of the charm of West End - West Bay, to be able to walk from place to place, have dinner at one establishment and go on to the next for a drink and to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. For your convenience, we have listed most of the restaurants in the area. We are separating those in West End from those in West Bay.

West End

Pura Vida.
Italian restaurant with a specialty in Pastas and Pizza, as well as international dishes. Probably the coldest beer in West End. Open for breafast, lunch and dinner daily. Excellent view, good music and service have made this one of the favorites in West End. Full bar service. Very good fresh fish and outstanding steaks included in the menu. Enjoy the view into west end and the spectacular sunsets every evening. The restaurant has been totally remodeled and offers a Mediterranean atmosphere. Of the many Italian restaurants in town, this is probably the best of all!
Parrillada Argentina
Located directly in front of Half Moon Bay at the Posada Arco Iris Hotel. New, Argentine style restaurant offering grilled specialties. Open Thursday to Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m Lunch menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, a veggie dish as well as conch soup and ceviche. Dinner menu offers charcoal grilled tenderloin, shrimp and beef brochettes, lobster, variety of seafood dishes and fish. Their homemade chimichurri sauce is superb! Full international bar service including a variety of wines. Very reasonable prices and good quality have made it one of the most popular restaurants in West End In a very short time.
Ricks at West End
Ricks traditional hospitality, already famous on Roatan in a new setting, in the heart of West End, located above West End Divers. Menu includes burgers, steaks, shrimp & Lobster, BBQ babybackribs and more! Also great salads. Live music on Friday evenings featuring blues. Nice waterfront location and a good spot to enjoy sunsets! Open daily for lunch and dinner from noon till midnight, restaurant open till 10:00 p.m. Full international bar.
Casa Calico.
One of the best breakfast options in West End, the restaurant at Casa Calico specializes only in breakfasts, featuring a variety of American, European and Honduran style breakfasts, including fresh fruits and the best coffee in West End. Open daily from 7:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m.
Half Moon Bay Cabins.
Located at the Half Moon Bay Cabins, this restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis. Full international bar service and a continental cuisine, with service available on a deck over the beach.
The Buccaneers
Adjacent to Lost Paradise Inn, this pleasant airy restaurant is open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. till 9:00 p.m.; and on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. featuring a great Sunday brunch Closed on Saturdays. One of the best restaurants in Roatan offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Two different atmospheres: a beach setting and a fresh, airy gallery provide the perfect setting for a beach restaurant. English and Spanish spoken. A nice, well kept dock allows arrival by sea as an alternate means of transportation. Beach chairs and snorkel equipment are available for rent here. For lunch they offer light foods and sandwiches, dinner menu includes a variety of selections including seafoods and vegetarian plates. Try their great desserts, including carrot cakes, cheese cakes, and much more!
Ooloonthoo
A unique Indian specialties restaurant located in the heart of West End, a short block up from Woody's grocery store. This restaurant has become an extremely popular dining site in Roatan, and is open only for dinner from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Closed on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations recommended. Owned and operated by a couple who truly understand the hospitality business and with years of experience worldwide as chef, you will enjoy this truly exquisite piece of Asia convenientlylocated in Roatan.
Bertie’s Creolle Cuisine
Located at the Coconut Tree Cabins, at the entrance to West End, this new establishment offers outstanding food prepared by one of Roatan's most famous cooks: Bertie. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, Bertie is famous for his Island style creolle cooking, serving outstanding seafood dishes. Also offers great burgers. Full service bar on premises.
Tre Fratelli
A new addition to West End, Tre Fratelli is part of a Franchise that also operates in San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa. They are open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and specialize in Italian foods. Located right on the main West End road, just before Pura Vida.
Luna Beach Resort.
A new outstanding self contained beach destination. Swimming pool, good snorkeling, a pleasant dock on the Caribbean, and a fully stocked beach bar and French gourmet restaurant. Luna Beach is a perfect solution for a good comfortable beach day where you can count on being pampered with good service and outstanding food. Without doubt some of the best Cuisine in Roatan and one of the finer restaurants in West End. A very international setting, where English, French, Italian and Spanish are spoken.
Rudy's.
Located at Georphy's Tropical hideaway hotel, across the road from the beach. Opens at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast and serves breakfast till 5:00 p.m. Famous for his banana pancakes. Rudy's also has the most extensive selection of fresh fruit smoothies on the island! Possibly the best breakfast in West End! Closed on Saturday.
Pinocchio.
Located a little out of the way, but well marked, and defintely worth the extra effort, this cozy Italian Restaurant offers continental cuisine, salads, crepes, and a variety of fish and stir fried dishes. Open only for dinner, 6 days a week from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Full bar service. Closed on Wednesday.
Eagle Rays
Restaurant bar centrally located in the heart of West End, over the water. Open from 10 till 10 daily. Seafood and burgers in an informal Caribbean atmosphere. Full bar service with a variety of domestic and international brands. Great place to watch the sunset. One of the few places on the island where you can have expresso and capuchino coffees. Sunset Happy hour from 4 to 7 pm daily.
Brick Oven Pizza
A little out of the way and hard to find, but definitely worth the trouble to get there. Outstanding pizza from real wood oven, pleasant music and a relaxed atmosphere. Take the road that leads away from the beach just next to Pinochios Restaurant. Follow the signs and don't give up, you will enjoy you dinner! Open daily for dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Cold beers and good wine. Some of the latest movies are presented daily during the evening. Also try the eggplant parmisana and the fish or seafood cooked in the wood oven!
West End Coffee Shop
Located at West End Divers, this is a good spot for sweets, light snacks and good live music on Tuesday evenings.
Cannibal Café
Located at the Sea Breeze Inn, in West End, the Canibal café is open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. Selections include Mexican food, Tex Mex burritos. If you can eat 3, they are free!!! Bar options include beer and wine. All plates offer generous portions at affordable prices. Also a nice selection of fresh fruit smoothies.
Mango Verde
Located in the heart of West End, Mango Verde is open daily for breakfast and lunch, and offers a variety of fruit smoothies, natural fruit frescos, as well as bottled softdrinks and beer. Menu varies daily, and they also offer whole weat bread sandwiches including some vegetarian options.
Dian’s Garden of Eat’n
Located on the road towards West Bay, this establishment offers a lovely combination of Caribbean cooking with an Asian flair, all in a in a pleasant environment. Restaurant setting includes outside garden and indoor air conditioned options. Open Monday to Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Dian's is an institution in the Roatan restaurant scene, having owned and operated the Bite on the Beach for many years. Her food is always outstanding!
Blue Channel
A long standing establishment in West End, with a true international crowd. A favorite spot for the Italian Expats in Roatan. Restaurant and Pub, offering movies regularly. There is an entrance fee for the movies. Full international bar.

After Dark in West End

Although West End is a small, very conservative community, the tourist trade has made some inroads and there are now several good bars for those who want to stay up a bit later. Following is the list of those that we find worth mentioning:

Sundowners
Located at Half Moon Bay, this is one of the more popular bars in town, offering daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. One of the favorite spots for locals, and the best spot to begin your night tour of West End. Open daily at 11:00 a.m. for lunch, offering varied meal specials at good prices. Try the special beer brewed right here, in Roatan!
Ricks At West End
Located on the main street, above West End Divers, Ricks offers a pleasant bar, open daily till midnight with live music on Friday evenings. Nice music with blues being the predominantly played music. Full bar service and a good spot to watch sunsets.
Fosters
Under new management! Relaxed atmosphere with a great happy hour daily. Beers are extra cold and a variety of tropical cocktails are available. Light foods and great ambiance. One of the most famous spots in West End. One of the most active spots in West Bay, especially on Friday and Saturday night when they get the best party atmoshphere in the area!
Twisted Toucan Bar
Located in the heart of West End, this is one of the most popular bars in the island. Open nightly. British owners give the bar an international flair. Great drinks, good atmosphere.
Luna Beach Resort Beach Bar
A very pleasant, upscale beach bar with a very complete selection of domestic and international drinks. Slightly higher prices keep the rifraf away, making it an exclusive and low key setting. A nice romantic atmosphere. Outstanding International cuisine available through the restaurant at the resort. A great place from where to enjoy the sunset!
Black Pearl Bar
Located on the beach, towards the southern side of West End. A good pool table is available for guests, as well as a beach volleyball court. Usually popular later in the night, starting at around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. and continueing into the wee hours of the morning. Good music.

West Bay

Caliente.
Located within the exclusive Mayan Princess Beach Resort, with both, air conditioned and beach side sitting, this establishment offers some of the finest food on the island. Overall winners of the first Roatan Shrimp Festival, they offer outstanding shrimp dishes as well as a nice selection of international cuisine. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m. Happy hour daily from 5 to 7 p.m. They usually have live music on Thursday and Sunday nights. Truly a great spot for an outstanding dinner!

The Bite on the Beach.
Excellent restaurant that has been established for over 13 years in West Bay and now under new management. Beautiful deck overlooking West End and West Bay. Full bar service. Wide selection of seafood, including lobster, shrimp, conch, crab and fish. Also great steaks and burgers. Easily accessible via water taxi. If driving a car, take the road to West Bay and follow the signs to the Coral Reef Explorer. Open Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday Brunch from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Akua Sushi Bar and Lounge
Located at the Paradise Beach Club Hotel, this totally remodeled restaurant offers the first open daily sushi bar in Roatan.

Las Rocas
A new restaurant bar located at the Las Rocas Resort in West Bay. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Lunch menu includes light bites and sandwiches. Dinner prepared by Italian chef Piero offering a variety of meals. Menu changes nightly and always includes beef, seafood and vegetarian. Pasta is prepared "the Italian way. Right on the beach, offering nice views, cool tradewinds and a full bar service.

Pizzeria II Pomodoro
Adjacent to Paradise Beach Club, this brand new restaurant offers the best pizza on the island, great pastas and outstanding king crab, all prepared with authentic Italian ingredients. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 12:00 p.m. Modern music played in the background and the best tropical cocktail bar in West Bay, makes of this a nice spot to hang out. Outstanding desserts are also available.

Buffalo Steak House
The first steakhouse in West Bay Beach. Located across the street from the Paradise Beach Club, in the same building as Pizzeria Il Pomodoro, this first class steakhouse is in a nice setting that includes air conditioned setting as well as a pool side dining area. Imported cuts from the USA, as well as a world class chef make of this the best spot in town for a good steak! Open daily for lunch and dinner.

La Palapa
Located at the West Bay Beach, where the Infinity Bay deluxe condominiums are being built, this informal beach restaurant is the happening spot in West Bay. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. till late, especially on weekends (Saturday and Sunday nights) when live music kicks in and the party starts! Full bar service as well as a nice menu that includes hog fries, burgers and seafood specials.

Beach Cafe
Located at Cabana Roatana, right on the beach, they are open daily for breakfast and lunch from 7:30 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. light snacks, cold sodas and beer. Informal beach setting.

El Mojito Bar
Located on the beach at the Paradise Beach Club, , and open from 7:00 a.m till 5:00 p.m. Tropical cocktails, wines and mixed drinks, as well as sodas and beer. Food service provided by the main restaurant of the hotel. Informal beach setting.

Angelo's Gelateria
An authentic Italian Gelateria offering a nice selection of home made Italian style ice cream! At least 12 different flavors to choose from. The perfect snack to cool off in the middle of a hot day or the light dessert after a hearty meal! Located across the street from the Paradise Beach Club.

Mangiamo
A nice combination of snack bar - convenience store located in the West Bay Mall. Wednesday night they feature sushi from 6 to 9 p.m. Nice sandwiches served throughout the day as well as freshly brewed coffee.
