San Lorenzo offers a variety of options for dining. Although the city is relatively small, and here are not very many sophisticated options, the truth is that there is an outstanding number of small family run restaurants that offer good food, most of them specializing in fresh seafood from the Gulf of Fonseca. Following is a list of the better establishments:

Mariscos Celso. Located in the zona viva section of town, this establishment offers outstanding grilled seafood dishes as well as surf and turf options. Full international bar. Pleasant, informal atmosphere. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m.

Sea View. Located in the zona viva, and specializing in seafood dishes, this restaurant also offers full international bar service. Open daily except Mondays from 11:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m.

Bahía Azul. Probable the best seafood soup in the area is available at this establishment. They also offer shrimp prepared in a variety of different ways. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m till 10:00 p.m. Located in the zona viva section of town.

Los Piches. Specializing in seafood, this restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. They also have a Karaoke sing a long on premises.

Maravilla 1 y 2. Nationally famous for its seafood soup and fish plates, it is perhaps the best known restaurant in southern Honduras. Open daily except Mondays for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m.

Mar de Plata. An excellent option for meat lovers! Churrascos and seafood dishes available at this establishment that also has a full international bar. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m.
La Cabañita
Outstanding service and a superb king crab soup have earned this restaurant a good name. Menu includes a variety of seafood and meat dishes. You can also hire boat tours around the mangrove canals and into the Gulf of Fonseca here. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Crazy Fish. Located at the Gran Hotel Miramar, and with pleasant views of the mangrove canals, this restaurant offers an international menu specializing in steaks and seafood. Their “Viagra” soup is famous. Full international bar and Karaoke sing a long. Open daily for lunch and dinner.

Gulf View Restaurant. Located on the roof top of the Villas Concha Mar Condominiums, and offering the best views in San Lorenzo, this is a good spot for a cold beer and a good seafood dish. Menu also includes continental cuisine. Probably the best selection of home made desserts in San Lorenzo. Their bar is without doubt the best stocked bar in town. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m till 10:00 p.m. It is also possible to arrange for boat trips through the mangrove canals and out to the Gulf of Fonseca in a small yacht. Owners are very friendly and English spoken and offer a wealth of information regarding the area.

Municipal Market. The Municipal Market, which is famous for its cleanliness offers a variety of good, down to earth meals at very reasonable prices. It also gives you the opportunity to interact with the local community. Amongst the better establishments operating within the market ate the Comedor La Negra, Comedor Egla, Teos, Jessica, Veronica and Copa Dorada. Best meals here are breakfast and lunch.

Paseo Metropolitano. Honduran style food, such as pupusas, pinchos and tacos. Open daily from 11:00 a.m, till 10:00 p.m.

El Pollo Volador. An informal restaurant serving charcoal broiled chicken. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 10:00 a.m. Hill 9:00 p.m.

Pollo Surwest. Probably the best fried chicken in San Lorenzo. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.

Golosinas Elsa. Open daily only for dinner from 6:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. Menu includes fried chicken with plantains and carne asada.

Comedor Brisas del Henecan Open daily from 6:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. This establishment offers affordable food and is popular with the locals.

Comedor Lineth A good option for fast, buffet style food at affordable prices. Open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Comedor y Golosinas Nancy This comedor offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from 6:00 a.m Hill 9:00 p.m.

Copa Dorada Offering air conditioning, this restaurant has great facilities for groups and larger events. A la Carte Menu includes international options. Open daily except Tuesday for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Restaurante Nan Fag Chinese and Internacional cuisine. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m.

Restaurante Casita Show Located at the Casita Show Hotel, this restaurant offers Chinese and international cuisine and is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Dulces y Salados. Frozen fruit smoothies coffee, pastries and more… Open daily except Sunday for breakfast, lunch and early dinner from 8:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.

Repostreria Nutrisur A variety of fresh pastries available here. Located next to Pollo Surwes. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. Hill 5:00 p.m.

Esquimo. The best stocked ice cream parlor in town! Open daily except Sunday from 10:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m.

Licor Store. The best selection of liquors in town can be found here. Open daily from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
