Ceiba La
Ceiba is famous for its never ending night life. Perhaps its the
combination of Latin, Caribbean and afro-antillian influence that gives
La Ceiba this very lively facet. Whatever the reason, you should take
advantage of this while here. If you don't, you will miss an important
part of the every day life in this city. There is a wide array of
options for you to enjoy while in La Ceiba. Following is a list of the
more popular places that we recommend. CasinosAlthough not a full fledged casino, El Palacio,
operating very near La Quinta Hotel offers bingo and slot machines.
Open daily from 7:00 p.m. till 4:00 a.m., you can take your chance with
lady luck here. They are now on the Burger King Street, towards the
Manuel Bonilla School.

Expatriates In
the Naranjal district, this is a pleasant and low key bar (my favorite)
that is frequented by the locals from both La Ceiba as well as the
Islands. Open daily except Sundays at 5:00 p.m. till past midnight.
Whenever there is an important sporting event back here or back in the
USA, you can count on it being shown live on their giant TV
screens. Also full service restaurant. Coldest beer in town! A good
selection of Honduran hand made cigars is available on premises. Free

El
Guapo’s Located
right on the beach in the Zona Viva, just West of the Quinta Real
Hotel. Happy hour 5:30 to 7:30 Tuesday to Thursday only. On Friday
& Saturday nights they have karaoke bar from 9 on. Full
international bar. Open Tuesday to Sunday.
La Palapa Probably the most
popular bar in town for the younger crowd! Located at the zona viva,
just across the street from the Quinta Real Hotel, this bar and
restaurant is open daily except Monday from 6:00 p.m. on. Nice music
with occasional live music playing on weekends. Complete selection of
beers and liquors. Coconuts New
bar located at the zona viva section of town. Nice two story champa
offering both an air conditioned room as well as the open air champa
overlooking the street. Also offers full restaurant service. Open daily
from noon till past midnite.
Snake Bar Located right on the beach, this
is probably the only real beach bar as such in town. Access is down the
same street where Bacalao is. Full international bar. Open daily. Comrade
Bar
Located at the commercial building just across from Hermanitos
Charley.

Lee 2 Located
in the heart of the Zona Viva, and offering a combination of bar and
disco. The bar is a pleasant open air area overlooking the street.
Popular with the local crowd. Full bar service and some of the coldest
beer in town. Open nightly till past midnight. |
Memories Bar
Located at the La Quinta hotel, Memories offers music, TV. screens and
a good selection of domestic and international drinks. Open 7 days a
week from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Bar
Tropical Located at the Gran Hotel Paris. A new
cool thatched roof has made of this bar a very popular during the early
evening. A good place to meet local people in a quiet pleasant drinking
environment next to the hotel’s pool.
La Iguana Bar
Located at the Cocopando Resort at the sea. A pleasant, romantic
getaway spot where you can enjoy the cool tradewinds, have cold beers
or your favorite drink. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30 a.m. till
10:00 p.m., sometimes later. Also full service restaurant. Happy hour
from 4 to 6 every evening.
La
Casona
Probably the most popular night spot in La Ceiba. Located on 4th
Avenue, Barrio La Isla. Open from 8:00 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
Karaoke Bar with an ample selection of music and international bar
service. They also have a disco on premises for those that would rather
dance than sing. Thursday is lady’s night with free entrance
for ladies. Entrance fee is Lps 50.00 per person. Small menu available.
Bacalao
Probably the "coolest bar" in town, due to the cool ocean breeze that
keeps this place cool in the hottest days of summer. Located at the
zona viva, El Bacalao is a very basic bar, that serves cheap beer and
is frequented by the local English speaking crowd, both Honduran and
foreign. Open daily from noon till late. A juke box with a good
selection of music provides the background entertainment. Very basic
and right on the street. |
La
Casona La Casona
The most popular disco in town, sharing space with the most popular
Karaoke Bar in the city. Open Wednesday to Saturday from 8:00 p.m.
Airconditioned. Full bar service. Thusday is ladies night. Without
doubt the “in” disco bar in town.

Disco and Karaoke bar located across from La Quinta Real, one street
over from La Palapa.
